The North Carolina Garden Railway Society held their monthly meeting at the Neuse River Valley Model RR clubhouse on Feb 21, 2010.
Frank and Paulette Simmons hosted the meeting with food and friendship.
Frank provided a demo on the Boys Scouts of America 100th Anniversity O-scale layout built by Frank and Tom Staley of Tom's Train Station.
The layout contains train track, a Mc Donalds, a train station and flickering-flame campfire, all operated on timers activated by push-buttons.
The boy scouts from troop 202 assisted in building the river, stones, the mountain and painting.
Camp Durant is featured with a realistic totem pole sign, tents, campfires, swimming hole and baseball field.
The BSA layout is on display at the Museum of History in downtown Raleigh until April when it will be moved to the Marbles kids museum next to IMAX.
